Granlibakken is a short 1.4-mile walk, bike ride or drive away from Tahoe City. Here you can stroll the half mile along the shoreline, from Fanny Bridge at the junction of Highway 89 to the Safeway/Lighthouse Shopping Center, and visit a collection of Lake Tahoe boutiques, souvenir and sport shops, and galleries.
When you go shopping in Tahoe City, you’re in for an entirely unique experience — you won’t find any national chains in this mountain town. Boatworks Mall – This one-stop for all your shopping needs includes more than 11 different stores at the water’s edge.
Cobblestone Center — You can’t miss this Bavarian-style shopping center built in 1962. Have lunch at the Tahoe Mountain Brewery Company, take in a movie at the Cobblestone Cinema or stroll through the center where you’ll find a variety of unique retail shops.
Tahoe Tree Company/McBride’s Nursery – Located on the road to Granlibakken, this shop is easy to spot. Browse their selection of plants, pottery, books, home décor, jewelry and find your perfect Tahoe token.
Kalifornia Jean Bar – With locations in Tahoe City, Truckee and at Northstar, this fashion-forward clothing and accessories store for men and women features plenty of top brands. In Tahoe City, Kalifornia Jean Bar is located in the Cobblestone Shopping Center.
