Partnering with Granlibakken, stay and ski packages begin at $150 and include lodging, a lift ticket, access to onsite skiing and sledding hills, heated outdoor pool, hot tub and sauna, plus Granlibakken’s famous hot breakfast buffet.

Northstar is known for its impeccable grooming, world-class terrain parks and enough variety to challenge every level of skier. It offers 3,170 acres of skiable terrain on 97 trails, 20 lifts, two gondolas and a six-pack express. Of the terrain, 27% of the mountain is considered advanced, 60% intermediate, 13% beginner.

Northstar’s elevation ranges from 6,330 feet at the village, 6,800 feet at mid-mountain, and 8,610 at the summit for a total of 2,280 vertical feet.

The longest run is the 1.4 mile Logger’s Loop and the mountain offers nine additional runs that are one mile long with advanced runs on The Backside. Lookout Mountain offers 443 acres of advanced terrain, while Sawtooth Ridge has 344 acres of backcountry terrain open for experts when conditions permit. Northstar has the largest snowmaking system of any resort in North Lake Tahoe, covering more than 50% of the resort’s trails.

Northstar has built-in enhancements this season including a complete makeover of the Big Springs Gondola. Guests will now enjoy a comfortable ride to mid-mountain in refurbished cabins that feature new doors and windows, more cushioning in the seats, upgraded ski and snowboard racks that accommodate the newest technology, and a new exterior.

Northstar has seven terrain parks — the Burton Progression Park, Moonshine, The Straits, Pipeline, The Stash, Lil’ Stash, Pinball — as well as the 22-Foot Superpipe designed by two-time Olympian Shaun White.

Learning to ski or just need a refresher? Northstar offers a ski and snowboard school for children and adults, with group and private lessons. For snowboarders, Northstar offers the Burton Snowboard Academy that offers a unique terrain-based teaching method.

Northstar’s Cross-Country Ski & Snowshoe Center offers 35km of groomed and tracked trails for track, skate, snowshoe and Telemark.

Off the slopes there’s ice skating at the 9,000 square foot skating rink surrounded by plenty of shops at the Village at Northstar.

Northstar offers plenty of on-mountain and village with food ranging from on-the-go breakfasts to jump start your day, mid-day lunch choices, casual and fine dining, to Après Ski, bars and nightlife.
