You'’ll find Granlibakken Tahoe resort in the epicenter of Tahoe's winter action spots. Our resort is home to Tahoe's most family-friendly ski hill. Here, you can ski and snowboard right at our resort on our ski and boarding hill - or take a private or family ski or snowboard lesson. You can also rent cross-country skis or snowshoes and head out to explore our 74-acre resort and surrounding national forest. Although our ski hill simple, this is how it all started around here in the 1920s when this hill was clear cut because of its great snowfall figures and location. You still get to ski the same hill that the Norwegian skiers created back then. Two surface lifts and 300 feet of vertical elevation are a fantastic location to enter the sport of skiing or snowboarding... or maybe to find your legs again after not being on snow for a few years. You can rent your equipment right here too.
Granlibakken Tahoe's sled hill resounds with joyful laughs and shrieks of excitement on a daily basis. No need to buy or pack sleds as we provide these for use as part of your ticket price. It's just sled and repeat, until your session or energy runs out.

Backcountry skiing
Take the trail less traveled. Enjoy guided or self-guided backcountry skiing experiences in the Tahoe National Forest or at one of Lake Tahoe's surrounding state parks. Granlibakken guests also have direct access to a 1.5-mile trail around the property, and a groomed access trail (flat-groomed, without stride-skiing tracks) to Paige Meadows loop when conditions permit.
Ski and Snowboard Hill
One of the very first hills cleared for skiing and sledding at Tahoe. Affordable beginner-level skiing and snowboarding, with the best sledding area around.

Skiing and snowboarding are offered both at the resort on our fully groomed family-friendly ski and snowboard hill and at numerous world-class ski resorts within a short drive of Granlibakken: Palisades Tahoe, offering access to both Alpine Meadows and Olympic Valley, and Homewood Mountain Resort. Just slightly further away are Sugar Bowl, Northstar and Boreal.

Cross-Country Skiing
Granlibakken's 74-acre alpine property offers plenty of scenic Sierra terrain year-round. In the winter, cross-country skiers can explore trails surrounded by a stunning, snow-covered backdrop. Cross-country ski rentals are available in our ski hut.
