Rope Tow Safety Tips

Before Using the Rope Tow

Understand the System: Ask the lift attendant how to load, ride, and unload.

Dress Appropriately: Remove loose or hanging items (e.g., scarves, long straps) that could get caught in the rope tow. Wear gloves with reinforced palms or grip for safe handling of the rope.

Wait Your Turn: Stand in the designated loading area and wait until the person ahead is safely moving up the hill.

Check Equipment: Skis facing uphill and any poles in one hand not obstructing others. Snowboarder's front foot strapped in, board's nose facing up the hill, turn your torso so it's facing up the hill too, lean towards the tail of your board.

While Using the Rope Tow

Grip the Rope Properly: Use both hands to grab the rope firmly but gently. Do not wrap the rope around your hands, wrists, or any part of your body.

Stay Upright: Maintain balance and keep your knees slightly bent. Let the rope pull you without jerking or pulling back. Avoid sudden stops or unnecessary movement.

Unloading the Rope Tow

Exit Smoothly: Release the rope gently as you reach the unloading area. Move quickly away from the unloading area to prevent crowding.

Do Not Let Go Early: Only release the rope at the designated area to avoid accidents.

General Safety Rules

Supervise Children: Ensure young children are supervised by an adult when using the rope tow.

Report Problems: Notify staff immediately if the rope tow is malfunctioning or if you see unsafe behavior.

Stay Alert: Be aware of other users and follow all posted signs or staff instructions.

Poma Lift Safety Tips

Before Using the Lift

Understand How It Works: Ask the lift attendant how to load, ride, and unload.

Prepare Your Equipment: Keep your ski poles in one hand if you're skiing. Straps off your wrists. Snowboarder's front foot strapped in, board's nose facing up the hill, turn your torso so it's facing up the hill too, lean towards the tail of your board.

Remove Loose Items: Secure any loose clothing or accessories to prevent snagging.

Loading the Lift

Stand in Position: Stand in the designated loading zone. Face uphill and keep your skis or snowboard parallel to the track.

Grab the Poma Handle: Hold the handle firmly as it approaches. Position the platter or button between your legs. Do not sit down; the lift will pull you upward while you remain standing.

Relax: Let the lift pull you gently forward. Avoid leaning back or pulling against the lift.

Riding the Lift

Stay Balanced: Keep your knees slightly bent and your body relaxed. Hold on firmly but do not yank or pull the lift line.

Stay on the Track: Do not veer off the marked path or attempt tricks while riding. Keep a safe distance from the person ahead of you.

Do Not Let Go: Hold on until you reach the unloading area. Letting go early could cause you to fall or block the track for others.

Unloading the Lift

Release the Platter/Button: At the unloading area, gently let go of the handle and guide the platter/button to the side. Do not let it snap back forcefully.

Move Away Quickly: Clear the unloading area immediately to allow others to disembark safely.

General Safety Tips
